Back then we heard them Speaking with big voices Like the mountains singing And the Earth dreaming tremendous forests Eternity's ocean Thousands of God's children Would gathered together Speaking as one. Then together we dreamt A very, very big wish... That what we were experiencing At the edge of forever Might be the foundation For an old way of seeing And sharing and being... That our children might know of forever, too. And as the stars are our witness And love is our lifeblood We remembered who we were Vowing to trust in God That we might recognize ourself In the mirror of a generation to come Nurturing the garden Of significant life. So now we come to a critical crossroad Where our life intersects The actualization of our wishes, For our children are maturing Into the conscious individuals That we once were, And we must ask ourselves What can we do to serve them? For the angels that we were And the angels that we are Have grown older, and hopefully, wiser The conversation has come full circle And the torch must be passed on To continue burning love's bright flame Guiding our people Forward through the night. Despite the resistance of society Joy exists Despite the ignorance of the masses Consciousness exists Despite the strong arm of the law Freedom exists And despite the desire to keep what we once had We must freely give it away. ...And become the witnesses Become the raw materials With which the new generation May build a world Upon which they may have their turn To speak with big voices And experience mountains singing In a very big way, too. |
