Do It Again

Steely Dan

(Verse & chorus for intro)-->Dm7
                    |Gm | add7 |Gm |
In the mornin' you go gunnin' for the man who stole your water
          add7 |Gm...
And you fire 'til he's done in, but they catch you at the border
And the mourners are all singin' as they drag you by your feet
But the hangman isn't hangin' and they put you on the street

                                                      Cm7 Dm7 Eb Dm7
Yeah, you go back, Jack, do it again
                            Gm
                                 Wheels turnin' round and round
                                             Cm7 Dm7 Eb Dm7 Gm
You go back, Jack, do it again...

Well you know she's no high climber, then you find your only friend
In a room with your two timer, but you're sure you're near the end
Then you love a little wild one, and she brings you only sorrow
All the time you know she's smilin', you'll be on your knees tomorrow

Yeah, you go back, Jack, do it again
                                 Wheels turnin' round and round
You go back, Jack, do it again...
                                                     *Solo*  verse & chorus (x2)-->Dm7

Now you swear and kick and beg us that you're not a gamblin' man
Then you find you're back in Vegas with a handle in your hand
Your black cards can make you money so you hide them when you're able
In the land of milk and honey you must put them on the table

Yeah, you go back, Jack, do it again
                                 Wheels turnin' round and round
You go back, Jack, do it again...

Can't Buy A Thrill

I've simplified the verse quite a bit -- the long version has a lot of pinky action on the 6th fret, e and B strings (though in actuality it's played on a keyboard). I find it's really easy to play along with the CD -- and tabbed out a rough version (sans nuances et variations) of the "Gm Thing" below. There's a Dm7 at the end of every instrumental run (intro and solos).
        Chords:
               Gm Gm7 Cm7 Dm7 Eb
           e |-3---3---3---5-----
           B |-3---6---4---6--8--
           G |-3---3---3---5--8--
           D |-5---3---5---7--8--
           A |-5---5---3---5--6--
           E |-3---3-------------

    Opening of intro:
                  |Gm | add7 |
       e |-----------3--6--3--3--3-6-3-3-3----33--6--3--3-3-3-3--
       B |-----------3--3--3--6--3-3-3-6-3----33--3--6--3-3-3-3--
       G |-----------3-----3-----3---3---3----33--3--3--3--------
       D |----3h5----5-------------------------------------------
       A |-3h5-------5-------------------------------------------
       E |--------3------------------------3---------------------

What a long strange trip it's been!
