The Yoke of Destiny

I know how big the music is
Cause I've danced in the garden
      In the ruins of civilization
In the planetary and galactic dance
     'Mongst the electrons and synapses

The first time I met you I couldn't see you
Cause I didn't know how to look
Past the players weaving little illusions
Past my own trips and delusions
'Til you blew my mind and revealed yourself to me

The music is so big and reality so slippery
It consistently and ever amazes me
I no longer believe in accidents
And I'm ready when the door swings open

      Wearing the yoke of destiny
We can always run, but does that make us free?
Freedom, like everything else, is a gift of grace
It's all I can do to serve you
      Hopelessly resigning myself to love.

I know how big the music is cause I've danced in the garden...

What a long strange trip it's been!
